The Japan HR Society (JHRS), through its HR Legal Clinic Program, is partnering with TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd., in offering the first-ever “Workplace Compliance and Ethics Advisor” Certification in Japan.
RATIONALE
Compliance with employment laws is an important aspect of any workplace. A workplace that condones illegal and unethical behaviors affects employees’ morale and productivity. It also affects the bottom line as companies spend money, time, and resources on litigation and settlement from discrimination and harassment lawsuits.
To promote workplace ethics and legal compliance in the workplace, JHRS will be offering a series of half-day courses focused on four important topics:
- Bullying Prevention in the Workplace
- Harassment Prevention in the Workplace
- Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
- Promoting Workplace Ethics in the Workplace
After completing the above 4 courses, participants will have an option to become a certified Workplace Compliance and Ethics Advisor by taking a certification exam administered by TUV Rheinland Japan, an independent third-party testing body in Japan since 1978.
JHRS Chief Community Officer Jun Kabigting, MBA/MS/HRMP, believes the partnership between the JHRS and TUV Rheinland Japan is a step forward in advancing the HR profession in Japan. Kabigting says, “We are very excited with our partnership with TUV Rheinland Japan since this will enable us to create a new and elite group of certified Workplace Compliance and Ethics Advisors in Japan who can help create safe and compliant workplaces by sharing their knowledge and expertise gained from attending these courses.”
Initial faculty members of these courses are from prestigious law firms in Japan such as Atty. Yoshikazu Sugino of Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu and Atty. Miki Fujita of Nishimura & Asahi.
The first course in the series starts in September 2015. Click above links for more details and registration.
