JHRS Study Mission on Disaster & Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning

"What is one thing that Florida and Japan has in common?"

ANSWER: Both of them experienced natural disasters! Florida was battered by Hurricanes Rita and Katrina while Japan recently experienced the Great Tohoku-Kanto Earthquake.

It is in this spirit that the Greater Miami Society for Human Resources Management (GMSHRM) is cordially inviting JHRS members to join this Study Mission and jointly learn from each others' experience on how HR professionals have handled and responded to these disasters.

GMSHRM will be holding a half-day workshop on August 16, 2011, entitled: "DISASTER & RISK MANAGEMENT and BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLANNING."

This will be followed by a dinner networking and fund raising event for the benefit of the victims of the 2010 Haiti Earthquake.

Plant or company visits may also be organized upon our request to directly learn from companies on how they developed, implemented, and maintained their emergency or disaster management plans.
